Dr. Cohen (00:00):
This is Andrew Cohen. I'm a board certified plastic surgeon here in Encino, California.
Eva Sheie (00:06):
What is the price range of breast implants in 2023?
Dr. Cohen (00:11):
It's usually around $10,000 to $20,000 depending on what needs to be done. If it has to be, well, it depends on whether it's a primary breast aug or if it's a revision. That's why I gave you the range of 10 to 12 for our primary breast aug, to 18 to 20 if something else needs to be exchanged or lifted or redone.
Eva Sheie (00:31):
What could be dangerous or potentially dangerous about getting a deal on a breast augmentation?
Dr. Cohen (00:39):
Well, everyone wants a deal, so do I, but you want to go to a board certified plastic surgeon or someone who does a lot of breast augmentations or a lot of breast surgery, so that's where you want to go. What could be dangerous is you may not get what you want. You might be too big, you might be too small. You might not be getting implants from this country. Maybe they're getting 'em from out of the country and they're not real implants. I mean, I've seen everything in 23 years. I've seen it all. I've seen people, there was a plastic surgeon years ago that was getting implants from France and putting 'em in. You can't do that. We don't do that kind of stuff. That's craziness.
Eva Sheie (01:17):
Is that the one that went to jail?
Dr. Cohen (01:18):
I think so, yeah.
Eva Sheie (01:20):
Did you tell me that story or did I hear it from someone?
Dr. Cohen (01:22):
I think you heard it from someone else.
Eva Sheie (01:26):
Yeah, it was recent. Someone just told me that story.
Dr. Cohen (01:28):
Yeah, I have to look that up.
Eva Sheie (01:32):
If you don't quite have the cash to move forward right now, what kind of financing programs are available?
Dr. Cohen (01:42):
There's a lot of companies that will finance your cosmetic procedure. We use CareCredit. We use PatientFi. There's a lot of programs out there, and so just talk to the board, certified plastic surgeon, talk to their office because most plastic surgeons will make it happen for you. We want to operate. We don't want to make it a hindrance for people to operate, but we also have to pay for our OR, anesthesiologist, all and our staff and all these sorts of things. But yeah, most of the patients are financing.
Eva Sheie (02:15):
Do you have someone on your team who's good at helping patients get approved?
Dr. Cohen (02:19):
Jamie is my office manager, so she really helps. She's the best. I've got a great team. I've got Jill on the front. I've got Jamie of the office manager. I have Sandra who runs the operating room. I have a scrub tech, Karen that most people don't see until the day of surgery. Dr. Allen Cohen doing anesthesia. He's not related to me, but it's the same last name. And Alana Braggart is my RN that does laser stuff and skincare stuff, and she does recovery. So I have a big team.
Eva Sheie (02:47):
Tell us your Instagram and your website address.
Dr. Cohen (02:51):
My Instagram is really easy. It's Andrew Cohen md and my website's also Andrew Cohen md. So we keep it simple.
Eva Sheie (03:00):
I love it. Thank you, Dr. Cohen.
Dr. Cohen (03:03):
You got it. Thank you.
Eva Sheie (03:06):

Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon in Encino, California
After 18 years in Beverly Hills, Dr. Andrew Cohen moved to Encino, California, to have space for his own operating room and give his patients the best experience possible. Wanting more for his patients than just great looking results, he helps them heal better, faster, and as safely as possible so they can live a healthy, flourishing life with their results.
To give prospective patients a clear idea of what to expect out of their results based on their body type, Dr. Cohen spends a lot of time taking high quality before and after photos and getting them onto his website with details such as height, weight, age, size of implants used, and amount of fat or skin removed.
When he’s not in the OR doing breast, body, and facial procedures, Dr. Cohen is telling dad jokes to his staff who almost always laugh, and giving back to the community by stitching up children’s wounds at the local pediatric urgent care.
