Hi, I am Dr. Maria LoTempio. I'm a board certified plastic surgeon living in New York City.
Eva Sheie (00:06):
According to TikTok, the source of truth for everything, the BBL era is over. Do you agree or disagree?
Dr. LoTempio (00:17):
I wouldn't say that. Maybe my patients, they don't know that quite yet. No, I don't think so. I think it's really the skinny BBL and the more natural BBL and I think that's the real emphasis now, and the trend. The trend is having a BBL, but not really knowing you had a BBL and not having people really say like, oh my God, you had your butt done. I don't think it's more like, wow, you look good. You look like, wow, did you go to the gym and what have you done? So I think that's more of the trend.
Eva Sheie (00:54):
You said skinny BBL. I've looked up what is a skinny BBL, and I got a lot of different answers that included things like a skinny BBL is for girls that don't have much fat, but still want a more projected rounded booty, or someone younger than 50 with a BMI of 24 or less. I think that must have been a doctor saying that that's a clinical, very clinical answer, or just more natural or basically just a smaller butt. How would you define the skinny BBL?
Dr. LoTempio (01:26):
Well, when I think of that phrase, I kind of think of the girl being, the woman being skinny and not a lot, having a whole lot of work. And I get a ton of those patients because my motto is, I could get fat from a rock.
Eva Sheie (01:42):
That's your motto?
Dr. LoTempio (01:45):
Yeah. My nurses laugh at me. I'm like, don't worry if you have fat, Dr. LoTempio is going to get it. Believe me, it'll be gone.
Eva Sheie (01:52):
Where do you find it?
Dr. LoTempio (01:52):
I'm very, I can't tell you my secrets
Eva Sheie (01:58):
Somewhere on the body.
Dr. LoTempio (02:01):
I, there's my favorite go-to spots that never, pretty much never let me down. And yeah, I mean, it's the torso and then when you really need extra help, you go to the extremities, but the torso is really the best fat. I think it's the healthiest fat and it's the fat that likes to stay longer.
Eva Sheie (02:23):
Where can we see these results of yours?
Dr. LoTempio (02:26):
Ah, RealSelf, online, more importantly, come to my office, fifth Avenue, next to Sephora.
Eva Sheie (02:32):
Is there anything we can see on Instagram?
Dr. LoTempio (02:34):
Yeah, some of them are, except Instagram has an issue now that they constantly take.
Eva Sheie (02:41):
A butt policy.
Dr. LoTempio (02:41):
Yeah, they're constantly taking it down. Now I tell people, go meet your surgeon. Go talk to them. Go see their before and afters. I have 200, 300 slides of BBLs.
Eva Sheie (02:53):
If there are some photos online, there are many more to see when we come to the office.
Dr. LoTempio (02:59):
And those we just can't put online. A lot of them, those are just, we can't, for various privacy reasons, confidentiality.
Eva Sheie (03:06):
Too beautiful to see. You just got to come in.
Dr. LoTempio (03:10):
It's all about the beauty of the booty.
